Lisandro Lopez Gets Called Up To The USYF National Trials

Some days are harder than others, but I'm not going to lie. Today was a good day. Lisandro woke up early, went to school and then as always was one of the first to show up at his FDP Futsal training session.

Just like anything else, soccer development through futsal is the same as any other sport. You have to work hard at it, and if you don't then you will not stand out, you will be left behind in the crowd. Lisandro Lopez didn't want to get into that situation, so he decided to go for it. He started with a few sessions in the beginning, over two years ago when he joined FDP Futsal Academy and is currently training year round with FDP Futsal Academy in New Jersey as well as being a part of the U11 Boys FDP League and FDP Tournament Select Teams.

His passion for the game of futsal and soccer in general led him to attend the USYF, US Youth Futsal , regional tryouts with an opportunity to be invited to the USYF National Identification Camp in Kansas City later this year and compete for a spot on the USYF National Team roster that will travel to Brazil this August 2023.

His pursue for an invitation to the USYF Nationals came true this week as Lisandro was identified in the  USYF Regional Tryouts and offered an invitation to the USYF Nationals in KC for a chance to train and play against other top futsal players in his age group from across the United States.

His mom, Ana Lopez, was quoted as saying, " Being able to play and train with FDP Futsal all year is a great advantage for him. We can see his progress when he plays top futsal teams. He has learned that in futsal quick decisions are very important for him and for his team and having futsal training every week will make him a stronger player".

Coach Niko is a former USYF National Team Director in New Jersey who knows what USYF is looking for in the players they select for their National Teams. He brings that knowledge into the FDP Futsal Academy and helps prepare futsal players technically, tactically and mentally for their regional and national tryouts. He offers them an advantage because they know going into a tryout what to expect and what USYF is looking for in a National Team Player.

We are so excited and would like to congratulate Lisandro in his accomplishment and are looking forward to seeing him compete at the higher levels of futsal and soccer.
